Acresfield is proud to be the official sponsor of Garstang Lionesses Walking Football Team.
Based at Garstang Community Academy, the newly formed team is the town’s first for women.
The Lionesses kicked off in October 2022 with the goal of helping people in the local community to keep fit through their love of football. They meet on Saturdays. Matches involve a range of football skills (all abilities are welcome), lots of walking and plenty of chat.
Why the Lionesses? The team says: “We belong to Garstang FC, whose crest is a lion, the seal the town chose when granted its Royal Charter in the 17th Century, so it made sense.”

The team is aimed at the over 40s and everyone is welcome to join, no matter your ability.
The Lionesses meet on Saturday’s from 10am to 11am at Garstang Community Academy 2G Astro Turf pitch.
Wear comfortable clothes, like leggings and shorts as well as trainers or astro turf trainers. No blades or studs please! Don’t forget to bring a drink!
The first session is £10, then it’s £3 a week.
